Job Summary:
Performs as the Health Applications Analyst for Information
Technology (IT), providing Electronic Health Record (EHR) support
to end-users. Assesses, plans, develops, designs, implements,
enhances, maintains, and supports the Cerner Millennium Solutions
associated to the position. Analyzes, evaluates, documents, and
makes recommendations related to EHR patient and information flow
within the health system. - Implements and supports multi-service
software packages that automate the capture of clinical encounter
information and its subsequent retrieval. -
Job Duties:
All duties apply to Ambulatory Nursing, Ancillary, Behavioral
Health, Dental, Emergency Department, Inpatient Nursing,
Obstetrics, Order Management, Revenue Cycle, and Surgery areas. -
Performs as the Health Applications Analyst for IT, providing EHR
support to end users. - Assesses, plans, develops, designs,
implements, enhances and maintains the EHR solutions. - Analyzes,
evaluates, documents and makes recommendations related to EHR
patient and information flow within the health system. - Actively
participates in Change Management and adheres to Change Management
guidelines. Logs all problems referring those requiring a higher
level of technical support to the appropriate staff or team. -
Implements and supports multi-service software packages that
automate the capture of clinical encounter information and its
subsequent retrieval. - Works with EHR end-users to ensure EHR
processes support regulatory requirements and other governing body
regulations. - Provides analyst and technical support to all health
entities as needed. - Coordinates work assignments given in order
to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment
completion. Shares experience and expertise with other members of
the team. - Works with supervisor to manage the EHR solutions and
addresses integration issues with other software packages. - Serves
as liaison between service lines concerning EHR usage and clinical
workflows. - Identifies data integrity issues and analyzes data and
process flows for process improvement opportunities. - Coordinates
efforts between stakeholders from multiple areas in order to gather
requirements, develop technical specifications, and test
enhancements and other changes to these systems. - Acquires a
comprehensive knowledge of the software involved to determine
procedural issues versus system/application deficiencies. -
Provides training details to end users and training department on
current software applications and new features and ensures options
are available for training of new users. - Emphasizes timeliness,
accuracy, security and the importance of these functions on every
other EHR application. - Promotes an awareness of the importance of
data validity and data security. - - Coordinates efforts to correct
deficiencies and errors that occur in the electronic record. -
Performs data analysis in order to extract requirements, identify
data inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting. -
Coordinates with Health IT Team, super-end users and other external
technical counterparts to implement integrated packages, resolve
conflicts, provide secondary support on related software modules,
test software, identify software problems and ensures smooth
operations in areas where package scope overlaps or is integrated
with other services' functions. - Establishes effective
interpersonal relationships with all levels of organizational
personnel. - Promotes an atmosphere that encourages enthusiasm and
user participation in clinical computing. Creates a positive
environment for reporting application and/or system deficiencies
and suggestions for system improvements and enhanced functionality.
- -Behavioral Health only:Supports the EHR Behavioral Health
solutions including, but not limited to, PowerChart, DCP Tools,
Bedrock, Revenue Cycle-Scheduling, and Registration. - -Other
duties may be assigned. -SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - No
supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications:
Health Applications Analyst I -EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT - Bachelor's
degree from a 4-year college or university in a health related
occupational field (i.e., nurse practitioner, registered nurse,
pharmacist, dentist or physician assistant; or 6 years related
experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A non-health related Bachelor's degree will be accepted with at
least three (3) years of experience in working with EHR/EMRs.
-EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT - An additional three (3) years of
experience in a related field. -Health Applications Analyst
IIEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT - Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college
or university in a health related occupational field (i.e., nurse
practitioner, registered nurse, pharmacist, dentist or physician
assistant; or 6 years related experience; or equivalent combination
of education and experience. - A non-health related Bachelor's
degree will be accepted with at least three (3) years of experience
in working with EHR/EMRs. -EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT - An additional
five (5) years of experience in a related field. -Health
Applications Analyst III -EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT - Bachelor's
degree from a 4-year college or university in a health related
occupational field (i.e., nurse practitioner, registered nurse,
pharmacist, dentist or physician assistant; or 6 years related
experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A non-health related Bachelor's degree will be accepted with at
least three (3) years of experience in working with EHR/EMRs.
-EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT - An additional seven (7) years of
experience in a related field. -COMPUTER SKILLS - An individual
should know Accounting software, Database software, Design
software, Development software, Project Management software,
Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. -CERTIFICATES,
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Must possess a valid driver's license
with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that
meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. -OTHER
QUALIFICATIONSThe employee must not be and will not be under
sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human
Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General
Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative
Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed
on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
-Ambulatory Nursing, Ancillary, Behavioral Health, Dental,
Emergency Department, Inpatient Nursing, Obstetrics, Order
Management, Revenue Cycle, and Surgery areas.Must have experience
in the coordination of other automated health care information
systems, such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR). - Must possess a
working knowledge of the Privacy Act, HIPAA, quality improvement
principles and information security regulations. - Must possess
advanced knowledge of the theories, principles, practices,
methodologies and procedures of a professional health-related
occupational field, such as a nurse practitioner, registered nurse,
pharmacist, dentist or physician assistant. - Must demonstrate the

skillsThe ability to fluently read and speak the English language,
with knowledge of the Cherokee language considered desirable.Must
possess excellent written and verbal skills, the ability to work in

attitude and performance - -Behavioral Health only: Experience in
the use of EHR Behavioral Health Solutions is preferred,
specifically PowerChart, DCP Tools, Bedrock, and Revenue Cycle
Scheduling and Registration. -PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the
duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or
hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit;
use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee
must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level
in the work environment is usually moderate.
