Responsibilities
- Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for
administration to patients; formulate radiopharmaceutical materials
from pre-prepared kits.
- Calibrate instruments and review calibration data to detect
trends indicating instrument malfunction.
- Calculate data to include results of patient studies and
radioactive decay
- Evaluate recorded images for technical quality.
- Process computerized image data to include function curves and
reconstructed SPECT images.
- Maintain inventory of supplies in assigned area; prepare and
maintain records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving,
dispensing and disposal activities.
- Perform required QA/QC functions, including monitoring Nuclear
Medicine Department with portable Geiger Counter for possible
contamination.
- Perform Nuclear Cardiology studies including image acquisition
and processing and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical
procedures, operate radiation detection and measurement
instrumentation including stationary imaging devices, and
scintillation gamma cameras.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology with
advanced training
- Graduate from a Nuclear Medicine training program in a school
approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (NM) or
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB or CNMT) or
Registry Eligible.
- If registry eligible, must pass registry within one year of
hire.
- Active BLS certification
