Job Purpose or Objective(s): Coordinate, purchase and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to the production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine the progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
Primary Tasks:

• Obtain goods and services to satisfy customer needs promptly
  
• Purchases goods and services in accordance with the approved purchasing policy and procedure manual.
  
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience.
  
• Price items for the lowest cost to meet delivery requirements whenever possible.
  
• Place orders with suppliers and confirm that written purchase orders are properly prepared with contract confirmations.
  
• Analyze purchases to determine if the lowest cost methods are being used and the lowest cost products are being purchased for MRO items.
  
• Maintain records of all transactions and records required by the policy and procedure manual.
  
• Prepare and distribute work orders to the departments of production.
  
• Develop and process accurate material pick lists.
  
• Team with the Inventory Department to transport and stage parts in appropriate locations
  
• Coordinate the return of damaged or NCR'd parts to vendors
  
• Work with team members and Management / Manager to complete duties as needed
  
• Other duties assigned, as necessary.
  
  
  Required Education, Skills and Experience:
  MINIMUM
  
  

• 
  
• (3) three years' experience in a like or similar role in a manufacturing facility.
  
• Broad and thorough knowledge of purchasing theories, principles and practices.
  
• Advanced knowledge of purchasing and accounting processes.
  
• Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Outlook.
  
• Strong organization skills and multi-tasking ability.
  
• Exhibit ability to stay on task and meet established deadlines.
  
• Ability to source materials effectively and reduce unnecessary paperwork.
  
• Ability to respond quickly to customer requests
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Preferred Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university or work experience in lieu of degree.
