Job Description:

Responsibilities include performing rough and finish work, repairing structures, inspecting materials, selecting materials, performing preventive maintenance and performing masonry and painting.



Performs rough and finish work requiring full range carpentry duties in major alterations. Repairs structures including insulation. Repairs and replaces flooring, doors, windows, sheet rock, plywood, veneer panels, hardware and other related items. Follows oral or written instruction. Inspects materials for correct grade. Performs rough carpenter work of minor repair of structures and other items. Applies caulking compound or filler material around doors, windows and areas requiring a tight seal. Makes and/or repairs cabinets for houses requiring the routing, planning and installation of such hardware. Works from defined drawings and sketches. Selects materials to perform the work. Performs preventative maintenance to foundations, exterior/interior walls, ceiling, floors, floor coverings, doors, windows, stairs, roof framing, gutters, and roofs. Repairs steps and porches from specifications involving finishing concrete to grade or works from blueprints. Performs masonry and painting. Repairs plaster on walls. Replaces bricks in walls. Paints surfaces for required protection rather than appearance. May be required to drive GSA vehicle. Other duties may be assigned.



This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



An additional six months related experience is required.



ust possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.



Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.



While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Work Hours: 3pm-11pm
