Job Description:
Walmart Inc., a leading global retailer, is seeking a Director
of Software Engineering to lead our IT and Cybersecurity team. This
executive will play a critical role in directing the development
and implementation of software solutions to enhance our retail
operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in
managing large-scale software projects, deploying innovative
technologies, and leading a diverse team of engineers. The Director
will formulate strategic goals for the department, ensuring they
align with Walmart's mission to save people money so they can live
better. Develop and execute software engineering strategies that
align with company objectives. Lead and manage software development
projects from conception to deployment. Supervise a team of
software engineers, programmers, and project managers. Liaise with
other department heads to facilitate cross-departmental
collaboration. Ensure software deliverables comply with quality
standards and security protocols. Manage budgeting for IT projects
and initiatives. Stay updated with emerging technologies and
propose adoption of new technologies when beneficial. Strong
leadership and project management skills Proficiency in programming
languages such as Java, C++, or Python Experience with software
development frameworks and architecture Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies Knowledge in
database management and data privacy laws Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k PMP (Project
Management Professional) CSD (Certified Scrum Developer) CISSP
(Certified Information Systems Security Professional) preferred but
not required
