Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll
Specialist to join our client's team. As a Payroll Specialist, you
will be responsible for processing and managing the company's
payroll activities accurately and efficiently. You will work
closely with the HR department and ensure compliance with relevant
laws and regulations related to payroll and employee compensation.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of payroll
processes, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to
maintaining confidentiality. Process Payroll: Collect, review, and
verify timekeeping records for accuracy. Calculate wages, overtime,
bonuses, and deductions based on company policies and relevant
laws. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll using
payroll software. Validate payroll data and make necessary
adjustments or corrections. Address and resolve payroll
discrepancies or issues promptly. Maintain Payroll Records:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records. Manage
employee information, including personal details, bank accounts,
and tax withholding forms. Monitor and update employee benefits,
such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave balances.
Prepare reports, statements, and summaries related to payroll
activities. Ensure Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and
local payroll-related laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with
tax requirements, including payroll taxes, Social Security, and
unemployment insurance. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and
reports accurately and in a timely manner. Assist with audits and
provide necessary documentation and support. Provide Payroll
Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes,
and deductions. Collaborate with the HR department to resolve
payroll-related issues. Assist in the preparation of
payroll-related documents, such as employment contracts, offer
letters, and termination letters. Process Improvements: Identify
opportunities for process improvements and automation in payroll
operations. Work with the HR and Finance teams to implement changes
and enhance efficiency. Participate in payroll system upgrades or
implementations. Multi State Payroll is a plus This opportunity is
with the corporate office of a restaurant establishment with
multiple locations and franchises. Bachelor's degree in Accounting,
Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in using payroll software and advanced knowledge of MS
Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to
handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective
communication skills to interact with employees and various
stakeholders. Ability to work independently and meet tight
deadlines. Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years
Salary: $16 - $19 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
