Customs and Border Protection, Enterprise Services, Office of Human
Resources Management, Talent Management Directorate, National

expertise in serving as an expert analyst or advisor to executive
management on organization change and related issues. This position
starts at a salary of $103,690.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $134,798.00
(GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $134,798.00 (GS-13

methods and procedures. In this Human Resources Specialist (Data
Scientist) position you will be responsible for serving as the
expert Management and Program Analyst who works closely with the
TMD and NRDs leadership. Typical work assignments include:
Planning, developing, coordinating, and participating in agency
research programs and projects, while performing scientific work
that applies data management theories, techniques, and methods for
gathering, studying, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting of
recruitment, hiring and workforce data Serving as an expert on data
creation and utilization principles pertaining to Human Resources
Management while preparing a variety of analytical reports,
memoranda, and technical documents on immigration issues Initiating
investigations of administrative data based on observations in
program assignment areas. Planning, researching, and implementing
the full scope of investigative projects requiring application of
workforce management data (creation and application). Performing
return on investment, cost to hire and yield conversion analysis
and develops automated models for subsequent use Travel Required

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of
specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade
level, performing duties such as: Using business analytics tools to
extract, analyze, and display data for quality assurance;
Researching and analyzing innovative methods, trends and strategies
to resolve recruitment and hiring capabilities; Selecting data
collection and application techniques and methods to produce
accurate and timely analyses; Applying statistics to various sets
of data to produce accurate and timely analysis; and Providing
summarized data to managers in order to make data driven decisions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including
volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace
Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and
skills and can provide valuable training and experience that
translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for
