POSITION: Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer REPORTS TO: Board of Directors The Executive Director shall be the chief executive and administrative officer of the Chamber. He /she is responsible to the Board of Directors for the coordination of the program of work; organizational structure and procedures; motivation of volunteers; maintenance of membership; employment within the restraints of budget; training and supervision of staff; interpretation of policy; maintenance of quarters; and overall internal operations of the Chamber, including but not limited to administration of chamber funds and maintenance of all records, equipment and property of the chamber, and other duties as may be assigned by the Board of Directors. CHAMBER MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce is to support and strengthen the business, professional and industrial communities, to encourage the development of new enterprises and to advocate for our membership; all of which improve the quality of life. HOURS Employee will be compensated for 40 hours per week.Employees of the Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce do not earn overtime compensation instead employees of the Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce earn and integrate flex time. SCHEDULE Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, some nights and weekends are required for execution of events and other chamber programs. FUNCTIONS Duties to the Board of Directors Participate in and direct through Chamber committees a definite "Program of Work" involving the formulation of programs, defining goals, providing for leadership and voluntary manpower and follow up on accomplishments. Coordinate all chamber activities including board meetings, general membership meetings, special chamber projects, events, and committee projects. Conduct official correspondence and preserve all books, documents, records, and electronic files for the corporation as prescribed in the Bylaws. Responsible for the maintenance of accurate records of the Chamber, Board of Directors and the Executive Committee activities, and meetings. Over-all responsibility and assignment for support services of all Chamber committees and divisions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Membership and Public Relations Represent the chamber at community meetings and activities. Maintain a protocol for welcoming new businesses and securing Chamber membership. Maintain and develop effective communication strategy to promote chamber evens and benefits. Ensure retention of membership and collection of chamber dues. Maintain and develop relationships with board members, chamber members and other organizations within the community. Maintain contacts with local media and other key organizations and entities. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a membership building program and shall assist and coordinate with the Membership Committees in expanding the membership support for the Chamber. Supervise and maintain the Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce's website and social media platforms. Supervise the issuance of all news releases for the Chamber. Administrative Duties Develop and supervise an adequate office organization and staff which includes employment decisions, assignment duties, training, evaluation, and recommending appropriate compensation for employees. Responsible for/oversee the collection and deposit of all funds and the maintenance of adequate financial records. Shall prepare necessary financial and tax reports except those prepared by the tax accountant and treasurer. Supervise handling of delinquent accounts, cancellations, membership orientation and prospect development, as well as billing procedures, accounts receivable and maintenance of membership records. Wagoner Civic Center Supervise, maintain the Wagoner Civic Center's booking schedule. Ensure the Wagoner Civic Center is staffed during business hours to assist customers with renting the Civic Center, signing contracts, touring the facility, and gaining entrance into the building. Communication of the Civic Center's schedule to custodian for afterhours care and needs. Communication of maintenance issues, supply needs regarding the Civic Center with the City of Wagoner. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS Requirements: At least 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States. High School Diploma or GED.Current Driver's License, personal vehicle available for business use. Vehicle must be insured, and proof of insurance must be provided annually.Available for flexible work hours, including some nights and weekends.Must be able to lift or carry at least fifty (50) pounds. Qualifications and Skills Possess minimal accounting skills Excellent computer related matters including Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and all social media platforms Be prompt and reliable Have strong organization skills and attention to detail Be friendly and outgoing Be able to lead and direct office staff Possess strong communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic) Support the mission and vison of the Chamber Ability to be flexible and accept new responsibilities Experience in non-profit organization fund raising & event planningJob Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits: Flexible schedule Paid time offSchedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Overtime Weekend availabilityAbility to commute/relocate: Wagoner, OK 74467: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)Work Location: One location
