DescriptionEngineering ManagerGeorgia-Pacific Consumer
Operations is seeking a qualified professional to be considered for
our Engineering Manager role at the Pro Consumer Products Operation
located in Muskogee, OK. The Muskogee Mill is an integrated Tissue
and Towel manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate for this
role will possess the ability to challenge the status quo to
facilitate continuous improvement; collaborate across roles and
diverse groups, gather and share feedback; stay current in best
practices and focus on safely improving productivity, reducing
costs through process/equipment optimization and operator
knowledge/skill improvement. The successful candidate will have
leadership responsibility for the engineering team and champion
excellence and innovation in the execution of the Project Work
Process to drive value creation.In addition, the successful
candidate will be responsible for employee development and overall
effective processes and procedure of the engineering team.
Proactively and deliberately utilize Principle Based Management
principles to deliver comparative advantaged results. Develop and
manage the annual and multi-year site capital plans. Manage the
internal and external project challenge review process.
Develop/maintain healthy relationships with corporate resources and
other GP sites. Develop/maintain a capable, flexible, incentivized,
and productive engineering team. This role will interface with
multiple Engineering Disciplines, Maintenance and Operations to
ensure equipment systems meet production requirements and plant key
initiatives. This position will report directly to the VP of
Operations as well as partner with the Plant Leader and will be an
integral member on the Facility's Leadership Team.What You Will Do
In Your RoleProvide leadership through the application of Principle
Based Management - to achieve superior results.Develop and maintain
a capable, flexible, incentivized, and productive engineering
teamServe as a technical resource for projects capable of
delivering high quality resultsUtilize the Decision-Making
Framework process by ensuring that potential alternatives to the
proposed solution are consideredDevelop well-defined project
scopes/estimates, oversight of construction activities, and
facilitation of project documentationDevelop and manage the annual
and multi-year site capital plansManage the internal and external
project challenge review processEnsure adherence to the mill
engineering department documentation proceduresImplement Contractor
Safety Management Standard; Install equipment that meets OSHA and
GP StandardsWork with Procurement to recommend, select, and
contract with outside engineering and construction firms to assist
as needed in project executionDriving streamlined and responsible
project executionEstablishing and delivering meaningful measures
for group members and managementBuild and promote healthy
relationships with corporate resources and other GP
sitesEffectively work and communicate in a team environmentEnsure
compliance with all federal and state requirements, and with
Georgia-Pacific Utility OM guidelinesThe Experience You Will
BringMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in a
related field and/or a minimum of five (5) years in a continuous
manufacturing operationSupervisory experience with responsibility
for direct reportsFive (5) or more years of experience with
managing project executionExperience using Microsoft Office
programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel
(for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas), Teams, and
Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)Experience
coaching and mentoring employees to improve their knowledge and
skills, as well as performanceWhat Will Put You AheadPreferred
Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or higher in Paper Science,
Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical EngineeringFive (5) or more
years of experience working within a pulp or paper millExperience
