Job Description Job Description Description: Position Summary The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for executing core accounting functions with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism. This position requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage both routine and complex financial tasks within a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records in the day-to-day recording of accounts receivable and accounts payable, and by their contribution to the month-end close process. This position also supports the Controller with ongoing financial analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and various ad hoc accounting projects. With decades of experience and a commitment to excellence, we are expanding our accounting team with a skilled Staff Accountant who will help strengthen the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of our financial operations. Position Duties and Responsibilities The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational accounting workflows, and assisting with month-end close and reporting activities. Core Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable Distribute customer invoices daily. Apply customer payments to open balances accurately and promptly Research customer deductions and coordinate resolution. Process credit memos as necessary. Routinely monitor client receivables and conduct collection activities as required Resolve billing discrepancies and provide timely responses to customer inquiries. Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices, check requests, and employee expense reports Facilitate weekly payment runs Reconcile monthly corporate credit card activity Calculate quarterly vendor credits related to faulty products Resolve vendor invoice discrepancies and maintain strong vendor communication. Month-End Close Prepare account reconciliations Record month-end journal entries Sales Tax Preparation and Reporting Support Controller with analysis, schedules and reporting Other Responsibilities Support various accounting and finance projects as assigned Assist with audits, documentation request and process improvement initiatives Provide backup coverage for other accounting functions when needed Compensation Morrison Cup offers a competitive compensation program and an excellent benefit package. Salary bonus Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability Up to 4% 401(k) Match, after 1 year of service Paid Annual Leave Minimum Qualifications · Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred. · Experience : Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution or related environment. Skills Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles. High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis. Proficiency with accounting software (ERP experience preferred) and Microsoft Excel. Power BI and PowerApps experience a plus. Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments as needed. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Requirements:
