The Community Based Specialist may assist with multiple programs
depending on the need. This position is PRN Who is Youth

Responsibilities Program Overview (Intercept)The intercept
intensive in-home services program is an effective alternative
treatment for children and youth who otherwise would be placed in
foster care, residential treatment, detention centers, hospitals or
other juvenile facilities. Diverting youth from these out of home
placement, Intercept family intervention specialists provide
guidance and treatment resources for youth and families in their
own homes.Program Overview (LifeSet)LifeSet is an individualized,
evidence-informed community-based program that is highly intensive.
LifeSet specialists meet with participants face to face at least
once each week. They text, email and call young people regularly
throughout the week, when needed. Specialists stabilize even the
toughest situations and help young people build healthy
relationships, obtain safe housing, education and employment.
LifeSet is one of the nation's first - and now one of the largest -
evidence-informed programs helping young people who age out of
foster care. More than 20,000 young people have helped through
LifeSet across the country since the program began in 1999.Position
Overview
- Provided assistance in both LifeSet and Intercept programs, as
needed
- Provide individual therapeutic treatment interventions for
assigned caseloads and provide ongoing assessment and review
- Conduct on-going assessment of the clients needs from a
strength focused, solution based perspective
- Collaborate with other providers, case workers, and courts to
formulate a collaborative treatment plan
- Provide on-call crisis support to youth and families, as
needed
- Collaborate with other community members working toward the
success of the youth; that could be attending court or meeting with
teachers
- Attend 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical
consultation) for professional development to help enhance clinical
skillsAdditional Information
- Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the
availability of youth and families served
- Applicants must have a valid driver's license, a personal
vehicle to use for work purposes and auto insurance
- Community Based staff will be reimbursed for applicable
mileage
- If clinical licensure hours are needed (LPC, LCSW,etc.), this
position qualifies for gaining those as you work with young
peopleSalary$20 - $22 / hour based on education Qualifications
Requirements
- A Master's degree in a social services discipline is
required
- Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and
alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice,
guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy
- Other degrees will have to be evaluated further to determine if
they meet the qualifications
- One year of related experience in counseling and/or case
management is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to maintain a flexible scheduleYouth Villages is an
